Suction and Vacuum Excavation
A comprehensive range of high performance suction & vacuum excavation equipment available for both sale and rental.
U Mole offer a comprehensive range of suction and vacuum excavation equipment for sale or rental within the UK and Ireland.
The equipment, manufactured by MTS and Vac-Tron, is available in trailer and truck mounted variants with spoil capacities from 1m3 to 12.5m3 capacity. Both systems are suitable for wet and dry applications with onboard air and high pressure water systems available.
Suction Excavation SystemsHigh performance suction equipment manufactured by MTS, available for sale or rental from U Mole. The range comprises stand alone, truck and rail mounted equipment in spoil capacities from 1m3 to 12.5m3 or greater with road variants available on 2, 3 or 4 axle chassis from 7.5 to 40 tonne gross weight.
Vacuum Excavation SystemsHigh performance vacuum equipment manufactured by Vac-Tron™ and available for sale or rental from U Mole. Suitable for skid, trailer or truck mounting the systems feature hydraulically opening and tipping spoil tanks in a range of capacities. Newly available is the LP Air variant featuring not only onboard high pressure water, but also high performance air compressors for safe dry excavations.
Surface Coring SystemsHigh quality, surface coring equipment from Utilicor™, available for sale or rental from U Mole. The equipment is available in skid steer, trailer and truck mounted configurations and is used in conjunction with Vac-Tron and MTS equipment to create small openings in roadways to enable Keyhole access to underground utilities that requiring location, repair or replacement.
The systems are predominately used in the utility and construction industries for safe excavations in areas congested with existing pipes, ducts and cables. Other applications include slurry removal, removal of industrial/building debris over long distances, deep culvert cleaning, rail ballast removal, coffer dam works, petrochemical plant works etc.
Both systems create an air flow and depression/vacuum in which previously loosened materials are transported through a hose and deposited into a spoil collection tank. These materials can be broken up safely prior to removal with either high pressure air or water, or with traditional hand digging tools.
Use of the systems within utility companies has seen benefits in several areas including: - large reductions in excavation sizes (up to 50%), reduced costs for infill/backfill, less traffic management, and improved H&S with the reduction in cable strikes etc.
Increasing use of suction and vacuum excavation systems has seen development in ‘Keyhole’ technologies such as Utilicor® surface coring equipment. Together with suction/vacuum systems, and other related ‘Keyhole’ tooling, the Utilcor® system enables small cores in road surfaces to be removed quickly enabling fast access down onto buried utilities. Works by utilities can be completed faster and with less disturbance to traffic, with the excavated material and core being reused ensuring minimal effect on the road surface.
