Survey Equipment – A Revolutionary Design

Plans for a revolutionary rotating skyscraper in Dubai have just been revealed and the engineers behind the project will require top of the range survey equipment for a project of this magnitude.

According to a report in the Telegraph, Florence based architect, David Fisher, recently unveiled plans for the world’s first rotating skyscraper. It is a highly ambitious project that has got the construction industry on tenterhooks and for building projects as unique as this, it is imperative that the survey equipment is top of the range and all the construction tools such as stoppers, shoring, piling equipment and formwork are of the highest calibre.

Survey Equipment & Shoring – Sky’s the Limit

The spectacular new rotating skyscraper, which is the brainchild of architect, David Fisher, is likely to turn a few heads when construction of the building is finished; which is scheduled to be done in 2010. However, there is a raft of construction work that needs to be completed before the first residents can help to move into the revolutionary building. The survey equipment required for such a gargantuan project will need to formulate the logistics of the build and various formwork and piling equipment is sure to be utilised as the building undergoes its transformation into a 420m colossus.According to the report in the Telegraph, the entire project is predicted to cost in excess of £350 million and the cost of the completed flats will range from around £1.3 million to a rather sizeable £18 million. As each floor will be capable of rotating 360 degrees the survey equipment used will have to extremely accurate in order to avoid any irregularities in what is an utterly bespoke building.

Piling Equipment, Formwork & Survey Equipment – From the Bottom up

The role of the construction workers, designers and builders is often forgotten when buildings as ambitious and aesthetically astounding as this are finished. However, it is important to remember the role that surveyors and survey equipment play in creating such breathtaking architecture. The materials and tools used to create these steel behemoths, like stoppers, shoring and piling equipment is crucial when it comes to produce such a spectacular end result. The company behind the rotating skyscraper have plans afoot for more examples around the world and, speaking to the Telegraph, architect David Fisher states, “We look forward to building one in Moscow and a third one in New York and maybe in other cities. These buildings will open our vision all around, to a new life.”
